Nationals Park which opened March 30, 2018, was showing signs of expansion joint failures throughout the seating bowl and concourse levels. A multiyear systematic expansion joint replacement program began in 2014 and is ongoing. The expansion joints systems are custom fabricated off site based on detailed field measurements, shop drawings and templates. The durability and watertightness of the new expansion joint system have been effective in eliminating water infiltration. View Project Images

The George Mason Memoial is a national memorial to Founding Father George Mason. In 2002, it was the first memorial to be dedicated not to a president in the Tidal Basin. The project included; cleaning of the limestone memorial and stone plaza, removal and replacement of the existing stone plaza joints and silicate coating of the engraved lettering. Replacement of approximatiely 15,000 SF of existing deteriorated roof membrane system in conjunction with the reconstruction of the balcony dividing walls and electrical upgrades. The elimination of ponding water at specific locations was vital and was corrected using Sikalastic 720 Base (Sloping) prior to the application of the Sikalastic RoofPro System. Performing this work while maintaining the watertight integrity of the roof was of paramount importance due to the space below being occupied at all times. This was accomplished by careful planning and execution of the multi-component RoofPro System.

Exterior rehabilitation of an 1877 Victorian Gothic style brick building structure. The work included complete and selective masonry joint re-pointing, exterior masonry cleaning, detail cleaning using the Ibex System, installation of new sealant in vertical expansion joints, fabrication and installation of various sandstone coping, finials and spring bocks, selective masonry and stone patching, rebuilding of masonry window arches. Four chimneys were carefully deconstructed and rebuilt utilizing the original masonry. New façade brick was cast and installed to replace non-repairable units. View Project Images

Exterior renovation of an 1882 Queen Anne style brick building structure. The work included selective masonry joint re-pointing, exterior masonry cleaning, installation of new sealant in vertical expansion joints, replacement of all window and base stone perimeter sealant, selective masonry patching, securing existing exterior wall base stone with helical anchors, fabrication and installation of new sheet metal flashing/counter flashing and limestone and brick façade cleaning. Complete exterior historic restoration of a limestone and brick Beaux-Arts style building built in 1922. The work included 100% repointing of all the limestone, selective repointing of the brick masonry, limestone and granite patching, removal and replacement of all sealant joints, EIFS repair and coating, installation of new expansion joint systems, refurbishing and restoration of the copper cornice and masonry cleaning. Luray, Virginia
The Confederate Heroes Monument depicts a Confederate soldier holding a rifle raised on a marble plinth was sculpted by Herbert Barbee, a third generation native of Luray Virginia in 1876. Our restoration work included the systematic disassembly and reconstruction of the 22 foot tall monument. The work included forming and placement of a new concrete foundation, construction of a new masonry core, cleaning (heated, pressurized, filtered water), patching (Jahn M120) and repairing the marble (Dutchman and reconstruction) Molding, casting and replication of missing elements. The work included selective rebuilding of displaced masonry, installation of new masonry control joints, selective repointing, restoration of copper spiral, removal and replacement of the marble clad columns, removal and replacement of all exterior sealant joints, fabrication and installation of new stainless steel sheet metal gutter (concealed) and masonry cleaning. The United States Capitol Dome is composed of cast iron plates secured to cast iron structural members. The iron serves as both structure and envelope protecting the interior from the elements. Throughout the dome there was moisture intrusion problems related to the joints (butt and overlapping) of the cast iron plates. Our scope of work included removal and replacement of approximately 17,000 lineal feet of sealant joints and installation of a waterproofing membrane behind the Antifixae in conjunction with the interim painting work in the summer of 2010.
