Historic Congressional Cemetery was established in 1807 in the southeast quadrant of Washington, D.C. to serve as the final resting place for hundreds of early Washington residents. The project included the restoration of the Public Vault, four other historic vaults and a portion of the brick enclosure wall. The work included: repointing of the brick and stone with lime mortar; systematic dismantling and reconstruction of displaced masonry; installation of new lime roof parging.
